Why do I need to take the CEVNI test
If you are thinking of Cruising Europe's inland waters then you will ned to validate your ICC (International Certificate of Competence) for Inland waters by taking the CEVNI test. When completed send your CEVNI test confirmation, your existing ICC and a new passport photo to the RYA certification team.
The CEVNI test is the code governing navigation on European Inland Waterways. It includes rules and signs that skippers of pleasure craft are expected to know and follow.
CEVNI stands for Code Européen des Voies de Navigation Intérieure. It is the code governing navigation on the interconnected European inland waterways.
Signs, rules and procedures for navigating the European inland waterways are all included within the CEVNI code, and pleasure craft are expected to know and follow the code.
Knowing and abiding by the regulations is the best way to protect yourself and your boat.

The RYA ICC CEVNI test is a multiple choice paper.
This online test is an alternative to the paper-based test that has been in operation since the 1990s and will provide ease of access to test facilities for those who don’t live near a RYA Training Centre.
The online CEVNI test, like all RYA courses and tests, is run through RYA Training Centres. Paper-based tests are still available.
To access the CEVNI Practice and Test area on the Technical Recreational Coaching RYA Interactive Website you will need to pay the fee at the bottom of this webpage.
Pay your £25.00 in Venues and Dates below. Within 8 hours of payment (based around normal office hours) we will register you with the RYA Interactive website so that you can commence your CEVNI practice and test. You will receive an email confirmation of registration from us, in the email will be a link to the RYA Interactve website and a Username / Password which allows you to enter the RYA Interactive website and commence the CEVNI practice and test.

You can then try the practise test as many times as you like and your score won't be recorded. When you feel ready to take the real test do so
On completing the CEVNI test you will be told immediately whether you have been successful or not.
